Kartik Venguswamy is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. He joined Goodwin Procter in 2007. Mr. Venguswamy focuses on complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on ERISA litigation and securities law. His practice has an emphasis on civil litigation — including class actions and multi-proceeding litigations — and regulatory investigations and governmental proceedings.

  • Successful representation of a leading mortgage lender in putative class action brought on behalf of all 401(k) plan clients alleging breaches of ERISA fiduciary duties by the inclusion of corporate stock as an investment option.
  • Current representation of a leading life insurance company in a putative class action of all participants of welfare plans who received death benefits in the form of retained asset accounts, challenging under ERISA the propriety of such arrangements.

Mr. Venguswamy is a member of the Order of the Barrister.


While attending law school, Mr. Venguswamy was elected to the Nationals Team while serving on the New York University Moot Court Board.
