Bob Pomeroy, a member of the firm’s Trusts & Estate Planning Practice, has been with Goodwin Procter since he graduated from law school in 1968. Mr. Pomeroy concentrates his practice in estate planning and probate and trust law.

Work for Clients

Mr. Pomeroy has planned and settled the estates of individuals of significant wealth, including many who reside outside of New England. He frequently works with clients to structure gift programs designed to reduce their ultimate state and federal estate taxes. Mr. Pomeroy has done extensive work in the areas of structured gift programs, both charitable and noncharitable, pooled income funds, charitable lead and remainder trusts, and the establishment and administration of foundations. He also is frequently involved in probate litigation.

Professional Activities

Mr. Pomeroy is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a national elective organization of trust and estate attorneys. He is also a member of the Boston, Florida and American Bar Associations.

Mr. Pomeroy has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in America.

In addition, Mr. Pomeroy was active with the Massachusetts Affiliate of the American Heart Association for many years, having served as chairman of its Planned Giving Committee and as a member of its National Planned Giving Committee. He has been an active fund raiser for Hamilton College.

Mr. Pomeroy was admitted to Phi Beta Kappa at Hamilton College.

Publications/Presentations

Pomeroy has been a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education programs, including three times chairing a program put on by the Federal Tax Institute of New York, twice lecturing at an ACTEC Annual Meeting and once lecturing at the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning.

Mr. Pomeroy is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Florida.
